Que Hacer - What to Do
San Juanico is located in a high desert environment, situated against the Gigante mountain range, overlooking a vibrant marine ecosystem.
Students are encouraged to admire and interact with our surroundings through any number of activities that this place has to offer.
  • Surfing
There is a spectacular wave here - one of the very best to learn to surf on. Extremely long and forgiving, it makes for an easy and low-pressure environment to really enjoy the process of learning to surf. We can provide boards and wetsuits.
  • Snorkeling
We have a large amount of snorkeling gear available for your use. There is a rich ecosystem immediately off the beach.
  • Tide-Pooling
Explore the many tidepools and rockbeds that line the northern coast.
  • Fishing
Fish from the shore or charter a "panga" boat to take your further offshore.
  • ATV Touring
Enjoy the vast trail riding through the desert, down the beach and all around San Juanico.
  • Laguna San Ignacio is a Grey Whale breeding sanctuary located roughly 2-3 hours north of San Juanico. Students working in this area are strongly encouraged to enjoy one of the most unique experiences the Baja peninsula has to offer.
  • Day Sailing
Short trips off the beach to cruise and relax.
